Are you tired of dealing with dry, lackluster locks that just won’t cooperate? Or maybe your hair does not seem to grow no matter how much you take care of it. Trust me, I’ve been there. And I know how frustrating it can be. But, lucky for you — I have the solution that you’ve been looking for — scalp oiling! I know, I know, this isn’t anything revolutionary. However, it can be, if you finally learn how to do it right. Once I hacked the code this simple yet oh-so-effective technique has worked wonders for my hair. And I’m here to spill all the juicy details.

What Exactly is Scalp Oiling?

First things first – let’s break it down. Scalp oiling is exactly what it sounds like – the process of massaging oil into your scalp to nourish and hydrate both your skin and hair follicles. It’s like a spa day for your scalp. And trust me, your hair will thank you for it! However, as straightforward as it may sound like, there are still ways to mess it up. So, let’s see what oils you should be using, and finally — I’ll also share my personal scalp oiling routine.

Choosing the Right Oil

The most important part of your scalp oiling routine will be choosing the right oil. And if you ask me, the best way to go about that is by mixing different oils and making your own scalp cocktail. We already have numerous articles about that topic, so I won’t go into too much detail. However, I’ll share some oils that work on most scalps while also delivering amazing benefits. The perfect scalp oil should be a mixture or essential and carrier oils. Amazing carrier oil options include jojoba oil, sweet almond oil, argan oil, and castor oil. When it comes to essential oils — rosemary, peppermint, and tea tree deliver some of the best results. You can mix together 2 or 3 different carrier and essential oils, but always make sure that you’re adding a much higher amount of carrier than essential oils.

My Scalp Oiling Routine

Now that you’re familiar with the basics, let me walk you through my tried-and-true scalp oiling routine. First of all, the oil I use is a mixture of jojoba oil, coconut oil, castor oil, and rosemary essential oil. This oil cocktail is great for faster hair growth, scalp buildup, and promoting healthier and shinier hair. I usually apply my scalp oil the night before washing, which gives my scalp plenty of time to absorb it. Section my hair, and add a few drops to each section, gently massaging my skin with a scalp brush. This will not only feel great, but it also stimulates blood flow. I’ll massage for 10 to 15 minutes, and add more oil if needed.

Since incorporating scalp oiling into my hair care routine, I’ve noticed a dramatic improvement in the overall health and appearance of my locks. My hair feels softer, looks shinier, and is much more manageable – not to mention the reduction in dandruff and dryness. Plus, there’s something incredibly luxurious about taking the time to pamper myself with a little scalp massage every now and then. So, there you have it, glam gals – the scoop on scalp oiling and why it’s become my go-to hair care secret.
