Gorgeous, Glowy, and Simple — The Ultimate Beauty Routine for Warm Weather Days

The warm weather is finally here! And I don’t know about you, but I feel like a completely new and rejuvenated woman whenever the first rays of sunshine start to hit my face. Of course, that metamorphosis also includes my beauty routine. Instead of my usual winter aesthetic — a full face of makeup and seek hair, my spring/summer beauty routine is a lot more laid back, soft, and natural. So, if you’re looking for ways to freshen up your look over the next couple of months, here’s my ultimate beauty routine for warm weather days.

Skincare Routine Refresh

The first major shift is always to my skincare routine. I want my skin to look as fresh, dewy, and healthy as possible, while still protecting it from the sun. And how do I do that? By switching up a couple of products. First and foremost, I’ll make sure that the sunscreen I am using has a SPF of at least 50, and that it’s waterproof. Even if you’re not directly swimming in the water, the added humidity and sweat will make your sunscreen melt away in no time. So, that’s why I always love to switch to a waterproof formula.

In addition to that, I will also change up my serums and moisturizers. I love using vitamin C in my spring/summer skincare routine, especially during the day. Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant which means that it will protect your skin cells from oxidative stress while also boosting the efficiency of your sunscreen. When it comes to moisturizer, I like to keep it light and simple during the warmer months. A water-based gel formula works best for me personally. And last but not least, let’s talk cleanser. Because I am wearing waterproof sunscreen, I like to go a bit heavier with my cleanser. So instead of a cream cleanser, I usually switch to a foaming gel cleanser.

Fresh and Easy Makeup

Finally, let’s talk makeup. I’m all about glamorous and matte makeup looks during the winter months. However, that’s not really my vibe once the temperature goes up. The heat combined with the humidity and sweat just makes any heavy makeup look appear cakey. So, my summer makeup is all about a fresh and clean base. And the easiest way to do that is by switching from a foundation to a BB cream, and from powder to cream products. Instead of relying on a bunch of powder to keep your makeup in place, simply add a generous amount of setting spray once you’re done with your look.

Summer Hair

Last but not least, let’s talk hair. If you’re a wavy or curly hair girly, you know that the humidity that we experience during summer makes it almost impossible to wear your hair straight. In addition to that, who wants to come near a flat iron at that time, anyway? So, the spring and summer seasons should be all about embracing your natural hair texture. Trust me — I know how frustrating that can be. But, you still have enough time to play around with different products and routines. And even if you don’t find the one that matches your needs, I would still strongly encourage you to make the switch to heatless styles. Remember, it’s summer. And your hair deserves a vacation too.
