Even though fall can be felt in every corner, the temperatures outside are still pretty hot in many areas. However, if you’re freaky for fall like I am, you probably already want to sip on some delicious September-inspired beverages. And what better way to do that than with the help of cold brew coffee? Here are some of our favorite recipes.
Cinnamon-Spiced
The first recipe on our fall-inspired cold brew journey is a Cinnamon-Spiced Cold Brew. Picture yourself sipping on this yummy creation as the aroma of cinnamon and nutmeg wafts through the air. Here’s how you can make it: Begin by combining coarsely ground coffee beans, a couple of cinnamon sticks, a pinch of ground nutmeg, and a hint of ground cloves in a large jar or pitcher. Then, add cold water and give it a good stir. Seal the container and let it rest in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours.
Now it’s time to strain it through a fine-mesh sieve or coffee filter. We’re ready for the fun part- sweeten your cinnamon-spiced cold brew to your liking with sweetener or brown sugar. Maple syrup or agave syrup work wonderfully, but feel free to choose your favorite. When it’s time to serve, pour your cold brew over ice and add a generous splash of your favorite vegan creamer. The result is a deliciously sweet and energizing drink.
Spiced Pumpkin
No fall-inspired cold brew recipes article would be complete without the Spiced Pumpkin Cold Brew. And trust me — our version is even better than the Starbucks one. Start by combining coarsely ground coffee beans, pumpkin puree, and a blend of ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves in a large jar or pitcher. Add cold water and stir until the pumpkin puree is fully incorporated. Seal the container and refrigerate long enough to allow the coffee to infuse with the warm spices and pumpkin flavor.
Once your cold brew has steeped to perfection, strain it through a coffee filter into another jar or pitcher. Sweeten your spiced pumpkin cold brew to your liking with your preferred vegan sweetener. For an extra touch of sweetness, add a dollop of whipped cream on top before serving. It’s like a sip of a fall day in every cup.
Apple Cider
Last but certainly not least, we have the Apple Cider Cold Brew, a delightful fusion of coffee and the crisp, refreshing taste of apple cider. Here’s how to make it: In a jar or pitcher, combine coarsely ground coffee beans and cold water. Seal and refrigerate for 12-24 hours. After steeping, strain your cold brew through a fine-mesh sieve or coffee filter into another jar or pitcher.
Now, combine your cold brew with apple cider, and stir until the flavors meld together in perfect harmony. Sweeten your apple cider cold brew to your liking with vegan caramel sauce, which adds even more deliciousness to this fall treat. Just like with the previous one, you can also serve it with some vegan whipped cream.
