It’s no secret that DIY beauty is a wonderful way to create personalized beauty products without relying on animal products or harsh chemicals. All that while also saving a few bucks. As gimmicky as some of these practices sometimes seem, when done right (and stored correctly) they can be just as effective as store-bought beauty products. We decided to go even one step further, and share with you our favorite DIY beauty recipes using fresh ingredients from your own garden. So, finally let’s dive in.

Flower toner

Witch hazel, filtered water, fresh rose petals, and chamomile flowers can be combined to make a calming and refreshing toner. A handful of fresh rose petals and chamomile flowers should be combined in a glass container. The flowers should be fully covered with witch hazel after being poured over. Put a lid on the jar and let it in a cool, dark area for one to two weeks. This allows the flowers to inject the water with their beneficial properties. The mixture should then be strained, and the infused liquid should be put into a spray container. To make it the toner, add 1 part of your solution and 2 parts filtered water for dilution. Witch hazel and floral petals work together to tighten pores, balance the pH of the skin, and also give you a gorgeous glow from within.

Green tea face mask

Make a DIY green tea face mask to nourish your skin. Making a cup of green tea first, then letting it cool, is the first step. 1 tablespoon of aloe vera gel and 1 tablespoon of bentonite clay should be combined in a small bowl. Stir the mixture well after adding a teaspoon of fresh green tea leaves. Avoid touching your eyes as you apply the mask to your face, then leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Aloe vera gel offers soothing hydration as the green tea and clay take away impurities and extra oil as the mask dries. For more exfoliation, gently massage the mask into your skin as you rinse it off with warm water. Your skin will feel clean, revitalized, and also renewed.

Herbal facial steam

Treat your skin to a relaxing and rejuvenating herbal-infused facial steam. Begin by filling a large bowl with boiling water. Add a handful of fresh herbs, such as lavender, rosemary, or mint, to the bowl. These herbs have soothing and aromatic properties that enhance the steam experience. Cover your head with a towel, creating a steam tent, and position your face over the bowl, ensuring a safe distance to avoid burns. Breathe in the aromatic steam for 5-10 minutes, allowing the herbal goodness to penetrate your skin. The heat and moisture from the steam will help open up your pores, allowing your skin to absorb the herbal benefits. This facial steam not only provides a relaxing spa-like experience but also promotes circulation and helps remove impurities, leaving your skin feeling rejuvenated, and finally revitalized.
