Here are some of our favorite natural lip balm and scrub DIY recipes.

Nourishing Lip Balm with Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is a true skincare powerhouse. It’s plant-based and easily accessible, and it’s well-known for its moisturizing and nourishing effects. It’s surprisingly easy to make a basic yet excellent coconut oil lip balm. To prepare this lip balm, combine 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, 1 tablespoon of plant-based shea butter, and 1 tablespoon of candelilla wax (an excellent beeswax substitute). Remove the mixture from the heat source after it has liquified completely. Consider adding a few drops of your favorite essential oil before gently pouring the mixture into little lip balm containers for an enjoyable scent. Allow the mixture to cool and solidify to create a DIY lip balm that will keep your lips nourished throughout the day.

Sugar and Spice Lip Scrub

Exfoliation is necessary for maintaining smooth, supple lips. Say goodbye to dead skin cells with a delicious and effective homemade sugar and spice lip scrub. To make this lip scrub, mix 1 tablespoon brown sugar and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil. Add a sprinkle of ground cinnamon for added flavor, and a little drop of vanilla essence if preferred. When you gently massage this fragrant mixture over your lips in circular motions for approximately a minute, your lips will feel refreshed. Rinse with warm water and pat dry for supple, ready-to-go lips.

Healing Aloe Vera Lip Balm

Aloe-vera-gel

Aloe vera, which is well-known for its sunburn-relieving powers, also works wonders on chapped lips. It’s as simple as it is effective to make a healing aloe vera lip balm. To prepare this soothing balm, combine 2 teaspoons aloe vera gel (ideally from an aloe plant), 1 tablespoon of coconut oil, and 1 tablespoon of cocoa butter. For a refreshing twist, add one drop of peppermint essential oil. After that, pour the mixture into lip balm containers to chill and harden. This lip balm delivers much-needed comfort and moisture to your lips, making you feel like you’re using a high-end product.

Rose Petal Lip Tint

If you want a natural touch of color on your lips, go no further than the rose petals in your garden. To make a DIY rose petal lip color, first carefully wash and dry a handful of fresh, pesticide-free rose petals. Mix the crushed rose petals with 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. Allow this mixture to settle for a few hours to allow the petals to absorb their color and fragrance into the oil. When finished, filter the oil to remove any remaining rose petals and store the rose-infused coconut oil in a small container. This homemade lip tint gives your lips a gentle pink shine while keeping them nourished and revitalized.
